If your tax refund is lower than TurboTax quoted, it may be caused by a refund offset. This is when the government applies part or all of a taxpayer's refund towards the taxpayer's past-due income tax, child or spousal support, student loans, or state unemployment compensation debts.

we owe no past Fed income tax. Why was only $1,401 deposited into our Turbo debit card. We’re supposed to get $1,824. Why the difference? [removed] owed no back taxes. Please send explanation to [email address removed].
Did you get only federal but not state yet? Or vice versa?
Federal refund and state refunds do NOT come together. Federal and state tax returns are processed by two completely separate entities. There is no rule as to which one will come first,
