W2 data import

So , I went though getting my taxes done, got this message at the end 

We have identified an issue with your tax return. - At TurboTax, we are committed to helping you get your maximum refund through ensuring your return is filed with 100% accuracy. Unfortunately, we have identified an issue with your imported W-2 form. To prevent you from filing an inaccurate tax return with the IRS, we have put a temporary hold on your e-file submission. You will need to follow the steps in the link below to correct your return by 11:59 PM PST on Thursday, January 30th. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience but are here to help you. We have outlined instructions to follow here: If you have any questions, we have a team of Tax Specialists standing by to help guide you through this. Please call at [phone number removed] and mention "W-2 Data Import.", 

I followed the steps in the link and they did not work, I called the number and did not seem to get anywhere, this is like my 6th year using turbo tax and the 4th year with my current company, I am not seeing the issue, anybody else having this issue>?

I got the same error. I fixed it but haven't sent it again. I was confussed because On the error message from TurboTax, it says to SEND IT BEFORE JANUARY 30, and on the link, it say DO NOT FILE UNTIL AFTER JANUARY 30.

I got an email stating a critical error after the return was accepted by the IRS.  I tried to follow the directions. I went back online - it still shows as accepted and doesn't allow me to access my return.  Is this normal. Or was the email a scam?

Yes! Had the same issue. I called TT and they got me on with a specialist and we walked thru my taxes again. She said it should be fine to go ahead and submit but I didn’t. I dont know what to do!!

I have this same error and I believe I have fixed the issue just not sure if i can resubmit now or i have to wait till after the 30th.

I got the same **bleep** message. I’ve used TurboTax for YEARS. I will never use them again.

You may want to check the information for your W2 in TurboTax.  To review, follow these steps:

  1. Select Wages & Income,
  2. Select Pick up where you left off,
  3. Select Edit to the right of your W-2.
  4. Review the entries against your W-2 to make sure they are correct.

You might have to delete the W-2 form and renter the information manually.


How do I view and delete forms in TurboTax Online?


Here's the general procedure for viewing the forms list and deleting unwanted forms, schedules, and worksheets in TurboTax Online:

  1. Open or continue your return in TurboTax.
  2. In the left menu, select Tax Tools and then Tools.
  3. In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
  4. Select Delete next to the form/schedule/worksheet in the list and follow the instructions.
