It is currently impossible to e-file an amendment using TurboTax Online married filing jointly due to a bug where there is no option to upload the prior year's taxes for neither me nor my spouse! As soon as I submit an amended return using TurboTax, it is immediately rejected due to the following error:
```
IND-027-02 - If 'PINTypeCd' in the Return Header has the value "Self-Select On-Line" and 'SpouseBirthDt' has a value, then 'SpousePriorYearAGIAmt' or 'SpousePriorYearPIN' or 'SpouseIdentityProtectionPIN' must have a value.
```
When I originally filed using TurboTax Online (as married filing separately with standardized deductions before amendment), there is an option under the `File` tab on the lefthand side that allows you to upload prior year taxes and/or a page pops up right before the final submission page that allows you to upload prior year taxes. However, when I try to make an amendment as married filing jointly (with itemized deductions), there is no `File` tab on the lefthand side, and there is no page to upload prior year taxes that appears when going through the entire process. My spouse urgently needs the current tax year return for legal reasons, so if someone can please help resolve this technical issue as soon as possible it would be greatly appreciated!!
Steps to Reproduce:
Expected outcome:
Before reaching the submission page, the page giving the option to upload prior year's taxes (for both my spouse and I) should appear, or there should at least be a `File` tab on the lefthand side that gives the option to upload prior year's taxes.
Actual outcome:
Going through the entire process leads to submission page without giving page or `File` tab allowing user to upload prior year's taxes leading to immediate IRS rejection upon submitting.
Note that I also tried clicking through pretty much every expandable option on every page in the Amend Return process, but I was unable to find a place to add `SpousePriorYearAGIAmt' or 'SpousePriorYearPIN'`. I can also confirm that my spouse does not have a Identity Protection PIN.
Again, any help with this is much appreciated as my spouse is on a strict timeline to get the current year's tax return as soon as possible! Thank you!!
Update: I did some extra digging, and I found a post that has a similar issue: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/my-return-got-rejected-and-i-received-the-codes-t...
I'll try to use the workaround given by freshly, but will give another update if that actually works or leads to another rejection! Not having the option to upload the prior year's AGI is still an issue though.
2nd Update: We tried using the workaround and my spouse created an IP PIN, but our amendment was rejected again with a similar error:
```
IND-032-04 - The spouse's Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) or 5-digit Self Select PIN entered for last year doesn't match IRS records. How to fix it: Check your spouse's records for last year's AGI, or get it from a Return Transcript available on the IRS website. An Identity Protection PIN can also be used to verify their identity before resubmitting your return.
```
Again, there is no option to enter the AGI for last year, and since the workaround doesn't work we are unable to file an amendment at all.

Bumping this thread again as we are also experiencing the same bug. No “file” button on the left side but worked on just going through every step by step again until we got to the IP pin step. Supposedly the next step is enter prior year AGI but it kept skipping that and proceeding to our identification (driver’s license, etc). I had to click back from there and then it will finally show the AGI question. Another issue from there is that there’s still no way to enter my spouse’s prior year AGI so our taxes still kept getting rejected.
please resolve issue
In your case you will have to mail your return since you have not been able to verify your identity to be able to electronically file your return.
