The IRS website shows a total amount owed of $0, but that's not correct according to the return I filed. The IRS website shows that "Your 2020 Tax Return is not processed" even though I filed over a month ago. I have attempted to use the "Get Refund Status" webpage, but since I'm not receiving a refund, it doesn't allow me to view my return. I have attempted to contact the IRS by phone, but the number [phone number removed] just returns a message stating that the call could not be completed at this time. I have attempted to contact Turbotax by phone but the automated system was not helpful and I could not reach a live person to discuss this issue.
Since the IRS website shows a total amount owed of $0, I cannot yet make a payment. I probably need to set up a payment plan, but I cannot do that until the IRS website shows a balance owed.
I am not looking for refund status, since I will not be receiving a refund this year and instead owe taxes.
The IRS2Go app is not compatible with my phone, so I'm afraid that's not an option, either.

Sometimes it takes the IRS long time to process tax returns. It doesn't mean there is something wrong. To make sure they received your return you can contact an IRS customer service representative by calling 800-829-1040. Customer service representatives are available Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time
If you owe a Tax Due then it won't show up on the IRS Refund lookup page. If you owe taxes you have to pay by check or direct debit or credit card.
I have tried that number but I get a message saying the call cannot be completed.
The IRS website doesn't show an amount owed to pay against. That's what I'm waiting for - I want to start paying or set up a payment plan. I'm not receiving a refund this year.
You should have been able to set up an installment agreement before you filed in Turbo Tax. But since you filed see if this helps. Setup a payment plan for IRS tax due

I had planned on setting up my payment plan after I filed, in order to give myself time to figure out what would work best for me, and in case my circumstances changed.
Also, the Turbotax guide states "If you already filed, or you're unable to find this option in TurboTax, you can apply for a payment plan at the IRS Payment Plans webpage (make sure you've filed your return before applying through their site)." Since the IRS website doesn't show my balance, I can't set this up. I can't even find confirmation on the IRS website that my return was accepted, even though the TurboTax website shows that it was.
I think all you need to know is that your efile was Accepted. And the tax due you owe on line 37. Go ahead and start the process at the IRS.
Okay, thanks. I'll give it a shot. I just don't want to do so and then have the IRS tell me I owe twice because their website wasn't updated at first.
