The IRS website shows a total amount owed of $0, but that's not correct according to the return I filed. The IRS website shows that "Your 2020 Tax Return is not processed" even though I filed over a month ago. I have attempted to use the "Get Refund Status" webpage, but since I'm not receiving a refund, it doesn't allow me to view my return. I have attempted to contact the IRS by phone, but the number [phone number removed] just returns a message stating that the call could not be completed at this time. I have attempted to contact Turbotax by phone but the automated system was not helpful and I could not reach a live person to discuss this issue.
Since the IRS website shows a total amount owed of $0, I cannot yet make a payment. I probably need to set up a payment plan, but I cannot do that until the IRS website shows a balance owed.
I am not looking for refund status, since I will not be receiving a refund this year and instead owe taxes.
The IRS2Go app is not compatible with my phone, so I'm afraid that's not an option, either.
