I realized I could claim my boyfriend as a dependent so he filed an amended return but now I can't file it says he claimed himself. What do I do?

Try again if you are sure he amended his return. If he filed an amended return, you will have to wait until it gets processed by the IRS and the IRS updates their database files to "free" his social security number.  Amended returns have to be mailed into the IRS and they can take six weeks.
