Taxes filed 1/29, accepted 2/12, received state return a week later. Nothing for Fed. I initially had the bar with a refund date. Bars disappeared, code 152, now only says processing will provide date when available. Has been at that status for about 3 weeks now. I don’t qualify for the stimulus, so my tax refund would be nice. Did reach IRS rep last week who said there was no problem with my return, but could take up to 10 weeks to receive. What bothers me most is that my refund is still not sent, but stimulus checks have been going out every day for the last week and I’m still in a holding pattern. I am glad that those who need their stimulus checks are receiving them, what I’m not understanding is the IRS explanation that they are backlogged, which does not line up with how fast the stimulus checks are going out. There are times when I get a refund and there are times when I owe, but the IRS always gets their money on time (if they don’t then you’re looking at all kinds of interest and penalties, but I’m being asked to be patient for them to return what rightfully belongs to me.
Yes, you are correct, many of our customers are experiencing delays in receiving their payments without being able to access information via the tools the IRS has provided as expected. As our customers continue to have questions regarding the Economic Impact Payments (EIP), we’re continuing to work with the IRS for guidance. We’re updating our customer and expert-facing articles with information as soon as we get it. Please see the following link about late payments: What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days?
Here is an FAQ with updated links and information: Review the new FAQs in the article, How will the third stimulus impact me?

another friday and no update
Same.
My return was accepted (not approved) on February 18th-19th, my bars have disappeared on WMR and I still have no tax return transcript for 2020 only the wage & income transcript.
Those transcripts have nothing informative on them as far as processing or DDD.
There is a processing date of 4/27? I think. I have no idea what that could mean.
Same here did you ever get an update?
Still no updates, still says refund being processed, no date provided. I file separately from my husband. Our incomes are looked at as “Single” for stimulus payments, so I don’t get a stimulus payment based on my income, but he qualified and according to the IRS website, his stimulus check is being mailed today while I’m still waiting for my refund. It’s now been 7 weeks since I filed.
this morning on wmr my tax topic 152 came back but still no bars and the refund amount is now gone.
not sure if it means anything
Topic 152 is a generic message the IRS gives to let you know they are still processing your tax return. You will not receive a refund until the processing is complete. TurboTax does not receive updates from the IRS once they have accepted your return.
If the IRS changes the code and needs additional information they will mail you a letter.
Please see this from the IRS for more information: https://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc152.
im sorry, but the worst thing about this website are the “experts” that keep spamming the same worthless information. Its usually 100% inaccurate or just not really related.
I know what tax topic 152 itself says.
Finally transcripts are available, but they are confusing, i believe it means on Wednesday
You made me go look at mine...mine updated for Wednesday too! Couldn’t be more excited lol!
When am I getting my refund Date??
According to this IRS update as of May 7th:
The IRS is now opening mail within normal timeframes. The IRS has also made significant progress in processing prior year returns. As of April 30, 2021, we had 1 million individual tax returns received prior to 2021 in the processing pipeline. Including current year returns, as of April 30, 2021, we had 17.1 million unprocessed individual returns in the pipeline. Unprocessed returns include those requiring correction to the Recovery Rebate Credit amount or validation of 2019 income used to figure the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC). This work does not require us to correspond with taxpayers but does require special handling by an IRS employee so, in these instances, it is taking the IRS more than 21 days to issue any related refund. If, as a result, a correction is made to any RRC, EITC or ACTC claimed on the return, the IRS will send taxpayers an explanation. Taxpayers are encouraged to continue to check Where’s My Refund? for their personalized refund status and can review Tax Season Refund Frequently Asked Questions.
How long you may have to wait: The IRS understands the importance of timely processing of tax returns and refund issuance. We are processing returns received over the summer and fall in 2020 due to the extended July 15, 2020 tax filing due date. While the majority of 2019 refund returns have been processed, in some cases, we are processing tax returns that were mailed with a payment even though payment associated with these returns have been processed by the IRS. However, we are rerouting tax returns and taxpayer correspondence from locations that are behind to locations where more staff is available, and we are taking other actions to minimize any delays. Tax returns are opened in the order received. As the return is processed, it may be delayed because it has a mistake including errors concerning the Recovery Rebate Credit, is missing information, or there is suspected identity theft or fraud. If we can fix it without contacting you, we will. If we need more information or need you to verify that it was you who sent the tax return, we will write you a letter. The resolution of these issues depends on how quickly and accurately you respond, and the ability of IRS staff trained and working under social distancing requirements to complete the processing of your return.
What you should do: If you filed electronically and received an acknowledgement, you do not need to take any further action other than promptly responding to any requests for information. If you filed on paper, check Where’s my refund? If it tells you we have received your return or are processing or reviewing it, we are processing your return, but it may be under review. We’re working hard to get through the backlog. Please don’t file a second tax return or contact the IRS about the status of your return.
