NO.....do not even try to amend for that. The IRS checks all returns with the recovery rebate credit. The IRS will catch your mistake for you and correct it by reducing your refund. That will add some extra time to processing so you will have a longer wait.

If your e-File is REJECTED, you cannot AMEND.
IRS has become expert at zeroing any Rebate request that you already got.
That's one thing that they can do very quickly.
