I just purchased the 2016 tax form to file my taxes from 2016 but it is not compatible with my chromebook how can I fix this?

You cannot "fix" it.   The desktop software that you need to use to prepare a 2016 return can only be installed to a PC or a Mac--not a chromebook or any other mobile device.  Is there a PC or Mac available to you?

You can download the software again to any computer that you own or have the right to use. You just sign in to your download account and download it again.
