Does Turbo Tax Premier populate the 2018 return off of original 2017 return or amended 2017 return?

I notice there are multiple questions coming up in preparing the 2018 return that are new--and I'm confused when asked,"Are these numbers correct from your 2017 return?" This is usually related to checking to see if something in the 2018 return is taxable.

When you use the online version it populates from the last return you completed so if you amended your return or changed the original in any way that is the tax file that is transferred.  In fact if you made any changes the original return cannot be even accessed any longer.
