If your return is Pending, it means your e-filed return is on its way and the government hasn't accepted or rejected it yet. Please see What does pending mean? for more detailed information.

Once the IRS has accepted your e-filed return, you can check the status of your refund by going directly to: https://www.irs.gov/refunds

Additionally, you can check out this Help Article for instructions on how to track your state refund.

I have the same issue. My taxes were always accepted within an hour in the past years. I filed on January 31st, and they still show pending. My son completed his on Turbotax and his was accepted immediately and he just got his refund...a week after filing.

last year at this time the same thing happened I saw on the threads. This is a turbotax problem and not a IRS issue

Last year TurboTax had the same issue. It ended up being a TurboTax issue. This needs to be rectified or TurboTax is going to loose a lot of business!

I'm going to give it until over the weekend. I'm contemplating filing with another provider...but if my tax filing is in limbo, I'm not sure I can. I don't think I would get in trouble if the tax filing is duplicated.

no you will not get in trouble, if they receive a duplicate they will process only one

I've read all the links. It doesn't really offer an explanation. I just find it concerning because in all my years of filing my return has never sat in a pending status for more than a couple of hours until now.

If you e-filed your return before January 24, it will stay in Pending status until the IRS starts processing the backlog of returns.

it was submitted after that, but then tell me why my family's returns (2) of them processed and accepted within 10 minutes on 2/1/23 when I filed my return, but mine is still pending..makes no sense!

Sometimes returns stay in Pending for several days or even longer.  Some extra review may have been needed on your return, which is why your family members returns were accepted before yours. While the extra review is being completed, your return will show as pending.

Is there anyone at turbotax that can look specifically at someone's order to see where the "flags" may be. When you say it might be need further review...who is doing the reviewing turbotax or the IRS?
