I have to file a tax amendment after realizing I forgot to add my wifes w2 to our joint return. Im getting way more back than what im supposed to. When I amend it, will I have to pay them back the entire amount I was given?
Will I get my lowered and correct amount for my refund afterwards or am I just out of luck this year?

You will be adding taxable income when you add the W-2, but hopefully your spouse had tax withheld too. We cannot see any of your information so it would be careless for us to predict the results of the amended return you will be preparing. It is possible that you will owe. Wait until your first return has been fully processed. Do not try to amend or change anything on your return yet.
It is too soon to amend a 2024 tax return. You have to wait until it has been fully processed by the IRS. Sometimes the IRS catches and corrects mistakes you made. And the Form 1040X you will need is not available until mid-February. Amending too soon can cause confusion and long delays.
Once your tax return is fully processed and you receive your refund, you can file an amendment. When you do your amendment to add your wife's W-2, TurboTax will calculate your new refund or balance due based on her W-2. If your original refund was more than what you should have received when your wife's W-2 is added, you will have a balance due.
Form 1040X Amended Tax Return, won't be ready until later this month. You can check when the 1040X will be available by using this link.
