That is right.  The IRS will not begin to accept/reject returns until January 27, so now your return is just sitting on the server waiting.  Check your email after January 27 to see if it has been accepted or rejected.  Meanwhile if you discover that you made a mistake or left something out, you will just have to wait.  Nothing can be changed while it is in pending status, waiting for acceptance or rejection.

So why does turbo tax timeline indicator points that today January 6th supposed to be acceptance date ? Is there an article or link from irs stating about 27th been day 1 for accepting start?

I found it on Forbes.   They do start 27th. Turbo tax indicator should be updated.  It is misleading

Sorry--although TT is allowing you to "e-file" your return is just sitting on the server right now.

Here you go--right from the IRS:

Exactly blazedimitrov! It said normally IRS accepts within 2 days, sometimes less! Very misleading.

This is what is infuriating re: the IRS. They have had a year to prepare. I received my refund on January 25 last year. Incompetent fools.

"The IRS set the January 27 opening date to ensure the security and readiness of key tax processing systems and to address the potential impact of recent tax legislation on 2019 tax returns".
