Does the state of Wisconsin get the same 1040 that I saved after I filed my taxes? I received an audit from state of Wisconsin for 1099 R distribution. The copy of the 1040 that I have from my filing clearly states that the early distribution was coded as a rollover. State of Wisconsin is claiming that their copy not state where the 1099R early distribution went therefore it is viewed as just a distribution. Would the state get a different feed of my 1040?

The state receives an actual copy of the Form 1099-R, which should be exactly the same as your copy of the Form 1099-R.
Why they are questioning this is not known. If the there is a phone number to call on the notice you received you may be able to resolve this over the phone without having to mail the state a copy of your copy of the 1099-R.
TT filed my state of WI return and included my federal return 1040. State of WI is telling me that the 1040 they received from TT does not state they my early IRA distribution was rolled into another IRA. My saved 1040 clearly states Rollover. For some reason the State of WI can’t see that so they are considering it taxable. Now I need to appeal and it’s a pain. Why is the version the state received different?
When entering a 1099-R and selecting that is was rolled over in full, then reviewing the Wisconsin (WI) return, the retirement does not show up on WI.
When you appeal be sure to include a copy of your federal return and a note saying the full amount of your IRA was rolled over within the required time frame (60 days). This should clear up the confusion for Wi.
