Could you please be more specific? What are the new credits you are expecting to get? The IRS is recalculating refunds if you filed before the laws changed for unemployment, and will also recalculate some earned income credit or premium tax credits----so it might not be necessary for you to amend. And the new child tax credit is not for 2020---it is for 2021 so there is no need to amend for the CTC. The IRS does not want you to amend for recalculations they are doing at their end.

First you must wait for the IRS to fully process the original return since they are making certain corrections automatically and they do NOT want you to amend for those. Once you get the original refund and there are missing credits then you can amend the return. Your state may also need to be amended.

So what I've been reading is the irs will adjust the unemployment If u filed early which I did in February but now when I click on amended just to see what new credits r there I saw an extra 4000 just for eic and some others I'm wondering if I file an amended return will that mess up my unemployment refund thats supposed to hit soon supposedly
If you had EIC on the original return then the IRS will also correct that credit when they fix the unemployment ... do NOT amend until the IRS has finished their work.
If you did NOT have EIC on the original return then you must WAIT for the IRS letter and the new form 15111 that will need to be filled in, ink signed and mailed back.
