Can you please confirm that you've logged into a Marketplace account or called the Marketplace to confirm that none of the SSN listed on your tax return had marketplace insurance at ANY time during the year and there is NO 1095-A that was or will be issued? We are aware of this experience.

 

You can try this article, that has been updated, for steps to clear the error.

Yes I called them and confirmed that. I explained my situation to them and asked why they would have told the IRS to expect a Form 1095-A. I gave them all my information (SSN...). They told me I don't have any insurance with them. They told me they were not the right place to ask.

I've been answering "NO" to the 1095-A. I followed the steps to Tax Tools>>Tools>>Delete a form but there is no form 8962 or 1095A showing.

Just to clarify, we would like to take a deeper look at this. It would help to have a diagnostic file, which is a sanitized copy of your tax return that has all of your personal information removed but has all of the forms and numbers entered. You can send one to us by following the directions below and posting the token number here so we can access the sanitized return.

 

 TurboTax Online:

  1. Sign in to your online account.
  2. Click on Tax Tools on the left tool bar
  3. Select Tools
  4. In the pop-up screen, click on Share my file with agent”
  5. Click OK on the message that a diagnostic file will be sanitized and transmitted to us.
  6. Please provide the Token Number.

 

TurboTax Desktop/Download Versions:

  1. Open your return.
  2. Click the Online tab in top menu bar
  3. Select “Send Tax File to Agent
  4. Click Send on the message and the tax file will be sanitized and transmitted to us.
  5. Please provide the Token Number.

I listened to your experts on here and they said to just put the number one on that sheet with the health care tax because it wouldn't let you bypass or let you select no when it ask you the question did you have Marketplace insurance. I submitted my taxes and they were accepted on the 4th. They're still not approve so clearly it's holding up my taxes now. I never had Marketplace insurance, followed your directions, and my taxes are still not approved. TurboTax refund me my filing fees and then some because I just followed your suggestions. At least I know this will be the last time I file taxes with turbo. Even if the same error happened with all the other online companies I'm done with it. I have straight W-2s this should not be that complicated and I need my **bleep** money. Now I have to wait until after 21 days call the IRS and find out why my taxes are being held up. This is caused by TurboTax. DO NOT LISTEN TO EXPERTS ON HERE

To clarify, I looked at the return, and at the time you created the token, it had a Form 1095-A and Form 8962 with the workaround to enter $1 in a mock-up form to try and get it accepted.  This may have happened after you tried deleting the forms in the  Delete a Form section.

If you do not mind, please try deleting both of those forms and then resubmitting the return. If it is rejected, then pull another diagnostic file for me to see what the return looks like at that time.

 

To be sure there is not a partially completed form in TurboTax, please check here to delete the form from your return. This will delete both the form and the entries. 

  • To Delete a Form go black menu bar on the left
  • Click on Tax Tools
  • Click on Tools
  • Under Other helpful links, click on Delete a Form
  • Scroll down and check for Form 1095-A, then click on Delete
    (There are a lot of forms, and I like to trace a line over to be sure I am deleting the correct one)
  • Click on the blue Delete Selected Form
  • At the bottom, Continue
  • Look for Form 8962 and click on Delete
  • Click Continue
  • At the bottom, Continue with my Return

It should look a little like this, but the forms listed will be different, and you may need to scroll. The forms are listed in a particular order, and  Form 1095-A is much higher up than Form 8962. They will both need to be deleted.

I deleted those forms and try to refile but now the first step is to review the order and it wants me to pay for TurboTax deluxe. I tried to "Clear and start over" but it says "You cannot clear your return" once I register tax return. I haven't paid anything and I don't want to. But it seems like I'm stuck in the position that it doesn't even allow me to start over with the Free version. Would you mind clearing it for me so I can start over to choose the free version or could you please pick the free version for me in that "Step 1" so that I can resubmit my return? Thank you.

I am trying to fix, but your system will not let me. I have uploaded the proper forms but nothing has changed. I paid a lot of money and your company has let me down after 7 years as a loyal customer. This is ridiculous  and you should be ashamed of yourselves. Im not going to pay anything until this is resolved.

i had coverage through the marketplace but they can't find me in the system so i will not be receiving a 1095-A form.  What can i do to file my taxes?

Hello! I wae hoping you could help. I’m receiving this same issue with this exact reject. It turns out in 2021 my parents had me on their insurance so I’m listed on their 1095-A. It was their policy I was just listed on it. Am I supposed to use their 1095-A to fill out all the numbers? When I did this, it raised my return by like $4000 but I know that can’t be right. Please help!:)
