I followed the instructions for this error as it continued to reject my return when changing to no marketplace insurance and my return was accepted. Now I am receiving a letter from the IRS stating that my information on for 8962 does not match what has been reported by the marketplace. I never had marketplace insurance and called the marketplace and they also have no record. What do i need to do to correct my return for the IRS?
After three rejections, a TurboTax customer service support walked me through it. It followed the same steps,
but at the end of completing the ACA portion, I was instructed to delete the form. Since I didn't have health insurance from the marketplace, I didn't want to risk sending the IRS an incomplete 1095-A form.
All correct, but I am working on my brother's Tax return, he is retired for the first year and I entered his SSA-1099, and Medicare part B and Medicare advantage, why he needs ACA if he does,t need it? BS
Omg this is so annoying. TurboTax keeps getting worse. You shouldn’t need to answer a question incorrectly to file because there’s a glitch that changes it to yes even if you select no for “do you have a 1095-A”. I tried changing it like 10 times and it kept changing back to yes
Yes the exact same things happening to me everytime and I’m getting worried. Let me know if you figure it out!
I followed the directions OP shared and put 1,1,0 for January and basically submitted a blank 1095-A. It won’t affect anything with your return/taxes. ACA forms are just informational BS. Still annoying that you have to submit an incorrect form to get past their glitch though.
Thanks! That seems like it’s my last resort. And it worked perfectly fine for you like you haven’t heard anything back?
It got approved finally and on the final page before submitting the fake form it showed $0 for everything which made me feel better about it. We’ll see if there’s any issues processing the refund, but the 1095-A is just a self employed/marketplace version of a 1095-C which is purely informational about coverage and the IRS doesn’t do anything with it. They just want to see you report a medical tax credit if you got one. (Im in HR so that’s why I know more than I ever wanted to about these stupid forms.)
I’ll post an update if anything changes but looks like this is the trick for their glitch for now.
Thanks! I was on my parents insurance for 2021 so I keep seeing mixed reviews about putting their tax stuff or doing the 0/1 trick. Hard to find a straight answer. Thanks.
Please, let me know if this helped. @jordanmartucci
"There are two issues that can affect the 1095-A. These will help to correct them.
To Delete a form:
On the menu bar on the left that shows.
My Info
Federal
State
Review
File
Select Tax Tools
On the drop-down select Tools
On the Pop-Up menu select Delete a Form
This will give you all of the forms in your return
Scroll down to the form you want to delete
Select the Form
Click on Delete.
Always use extreme caution when deleting from your tax return. There could be unintended consequences.
The workaround is to enter $1 for the 1095-A. This will not affect anything on your return but having the form there may get the IRS to accept your return.
To do this take the following steps:
Click Deductions and Credits
Scroll down to Medical and Click Show More
Click Start or Revisit next to the ACA
As you walk through the questions, you will be asked if you received a 1095-A.
If you did NOT, click YES anyway.
Enter 0's for the Marketplace identifier and Policy number.
Enter $1 for January monthly premium amount and SLCSP
Walkthrough to the end and submit your return."

Should you keep it on YES or NO when continuing to file once, you delete the forms?? or should you try those 2 methods separately first??? (Delete the forms then put no and see if it gets rejected) OR (Try the Yes and $1 for January thing)
My file have rejected for the third time and Lee was help me with her very good attention. Please be advise. Thank you.
I was not enrolled with the Market Place H.ealth Coverage.
I was enrolled with Blue Cross Blue Shield at the time.
I did all that and they’re saying that I have insurance which was fraud and I filed fraud. I have been rejected 4 times and on the phone numerous times with the health gov. They say that they are fixing this but it is not corrected and we need our money.
It doesn’t work. The form is still rejected
