There is no fee for direct deposit. A direct deposit from the IRS is a free service. However, there is an additional TurboTax service fee if you choose to pay the product fees out of the Federal refund. Perhaps that is what you are referring to. I'll explain that lower down in this answer and how to check on it, if you did.
If your efile was accepted, then your Online account will always show the term "accepted", because that is an efile status, that means the IRS accepted the efile to start processing your return. That won't change in your online account. Your account does not get any updates from the IRS.
If the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool says your refund was sent, here are some considerations:
How did you pay your TurboTax product fees? If you chose to pay them out of the Federal refund, the funds go first from the IRS to a temporary bank account in your name at an intermediary bank where the fees are subtracted. Then that intermediary bank sends the rest of the funds on to your bank (or card.) If you used that method to pay fees, and if the IRS has actually released the funds, you can check on the funds at the level of the intermediary company (SBTPG).
If that's your situation, then here's how to use SBTPG's refund lookup tool at their website.
To log in, choose the "For taxpayers" portal at:
https://www.sbtpg.com/
If needed, SBTPG has a phone contact page at the following link. It also shows their business hours. Even when they are closed, you may be able to get automated info, or you can log in as above.

If you used that service, and if a deposit from SBTPG's bank to your bank failed, it would go back to SBTPG's bank, which would issue you a paper check in the mail. Sometimes the funds can be hung up at SBTPG for some reason, such as needing identity verification. Less commonly, SBTPG might send it back to the IRS, and the IRS would issue a paper check in the mail.
If you did NOT use that service to pay your TurboTax fees (i.e., if you paid the TurboTax fees upfront with credit/debit card), then the info above about SBTPG should not apply to you. In that case, report back, and we can tell you some other things to check.
Quick question. I filed my federal taxes and it was accepted on February 16th. When I check the IRS website it says my refund was sent to my bank electronically or mailed to my bank electronically on March 10th. It is now March 22nd and I have not received my refund? I was wondering if anyone had any information it says I cannot contact the IRS until early April. But I was unsure if this could be a hold up because the bank information was wrong? Which I doubt because my state refund went through so I am wondering what other possibilities there could be when it says they had sent the information to my bank and the refund has been sent?
You should contact your bank to inquire about your refund. If a deposit has not been attempted, then you should contact the IRS to inquire about your refund. Please see How do I contact the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)? for more information, including the IRS phone number and hours of operation.
If you would like to verify the direct deposit information you entered, please see Where can I find my direct deposit account information after I've e-filed? for instructions.
@dustinskinner78 Did you request to have your TurboTax account fees paid from the federal tax refund?
yes😀
If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.
For the status of your tax refund you will need to contact the third party processor, Santa Barbara Tax Product Group, using their website - https://www.sbtpg.com/
