In this public forum we cannot diagnose why your refund has been reduced. For additional information, please see this Help Article or this TurboTax blog.
If you elected to pay your fees with your refund, then you would need to contact TPG as they are the one who would be handling your refund. You can also check out this TPG Help Article to check on your refund.
If you did not pay your fees with your refund, then you will need to contact the IRS to inquire about your reduced refund. Please see How do I contact the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)? for more information, including the IRS phone number and hours of operation. You may want to try calling right when they open since they have been very busy throughout the day.
Sounds like the difference could be the $1400 stimulus for 3 persons ($4200). The IRS will be mailing you a letter in 2-4 weeks. They do not notify TT.
In addition, if the IRS adjusted your refund due to the Recovery Rebate Credit and you did not receive your stimulus payment, then you should start a payment trace. If the check was not cashed, then they will issue you a new one. If the check was cashed, the Treasury Department will send you a claim package that includes a copy of the cashed check. The Treasury Department will review your claim and the signature on the canceled check before determining whether the payment can be reversed and a new payment should be issued.
To start a payment trace:
Please see Questions and Answers about the Third Economic Impact Payment — Topic J: Payment Issued but Lost, St... for the fax number, which is based upon your resident state.
