My Federal Return shows as Accepted on Turbo Tax site, shows as Received on the IRS2Go app, and in reality I received the return via direct deposit a week ago. My husband and I file Married but Separately and did our taxes around the same time and this has been both of our experiences - we got our refunds but according to the IRS and TurboTax our filed taxes aren’t even done being approved let alone our refunds issued.
This is the first year I’ve used TurboTax and I feel certain I did everything right (and the direct deposit refund is the amount I was expecting), but confused by the discrepancy in the status and timeline. I’ve never known the IRS to not reflect the correct status of my return so this seems concerning.
Has anyone else experienced this or anything similar, this year in particular?

The IRS has a big banner at the top of the IRS WMR website:
"Updates to Where’s My Refund Status Delayed for Some
The Where’s My Refund app may show “Return Received,” even if we’ve already issued your refund. Your refund will not be delayed. There’s no need to call the IRS."
TurboTax does not get any updates on its website after an efiled return is accepted. It doesn't get any feedback from the IRS. If it says "accepted" for the efile status, it will always say "accepted."
With the IRS filing delay and backlog this tax season due to Covid, some people are receiving their tax refunds before their information has been updated on Where's My Refund.
