I received a U.S. Treasury Check today 02/18 from the mail but dated the 15th of February. I also received (posted today) an electronic direct deposit IRS TREAS 310 TAX REF ACH Entry Memo in my bank account, for a lesser amount (this I expected because I filed myself on Turbo Tax Intuit).
I did not expect the paper mail U.S. Treasury check. Which one is the "real" tax refund for me to claim? The check is also validated (I checked the details on the treasury check verification site).
I simply do not know If it is safe for me to claim the paper check into my bank account in case the electronic one is the real "corrected" amount since it is a lesser amount and actually given in today's date unlike the other one.

On the paper check is there something in the memo section ? That will tell you what the check is for... could be for a prior tax year.
You can also log into your account online and see if you can figure out this mystery : https://www.irs.gov/payments/your-online-account
The memo says TAX REFUND 30
