OK interesting question to the group following this post, if your return has been accepted at State of CA, do you owe money and if your return has not been accepted - are you due a refund. Is there any data that points one way or the other. Mine has not been accepted and I am due a refund 🙂
Mine has not been accepted and I am owed a refund.
I submitted both Federal and CA taxes on February 12. Both are listed as pending. So, 5 days now. It's unnerving to have an inexplicable delay in such an important process.
This *may* help everyone out here. Head on over to Twitter and @ TeamTurboTax (TurboTax Support) has a pinned tweet for all to see. I just dropped the link to this thread there and got the same (incorrect) vanilla response to the issue. If enough people call this issue out on Twitter they *might* actually look into it rather than have the 'experts' tell folks to wait 3 weeks or contact the FTB for them. Hitting up @ TurboTax wouldn't be a bad idea either. Good luck everyone.
I posted in another thread some interesting findings I found on my turbotax computer program. There were 3 software updates since I filled on 2/1/21 relating to the CA software inside turbotax, last update being 2/12/21. I am wondering if those of us CA folks who filed early and had the fed accepted but state pended is due to these turbotax software CA updates we missed when we e-filed early? Case in point, my buddy who filed on 2/15/21 had all the CA turbotax updates already and his state return was accepted 15 minutes after his fed return on the same day he e-filed with turbotax!
I just got off the phone with State of CA they have not received my refund at all. Turbo Tax tried to tell me they sent it through. No they did not and am calling again. Such bull**bleep**. They need to fix their software
I am 100% sure turbotax has NOT transmitted all our CA returns. In fact I bet if I go do my sister's taxes right now who lives in CA like myself, her CA return will be accepted within hours. Our state returns are sitting in limbo somewhere and Turbotax needs to be truthful here!!
I am thinking it is due to software updates specifically made for CA STATE returns that I found on my turbotax computer program earlier. I filed way before these 3 software state updates were made, so maybe my CA state return is missing something important and Turbotax knows this and needs to address this ASAP.
I filed both on 2/12/21...Fed was accepted 2/12/21...state still shows pending. went to where's my refund for CA state...no record of my 2020 CA income tax return...I am due a refund.
I filled CA state tax on 2/12. Fed tax was accepted on 2/13 but CA tax is still pending. Hope turbotax can help us fix this issue soon.
I called the turbotax rep and was told that it could take up to two weeks to be accepted. In the past years, CA state tax was usually accepted in hours.
I went on Twitter and searched and it looks like H&R Block customers are complaining about the same thing. Maybe it’s the state then.
Hello. I e-filed both the same day (February 13th). The Federal got accepted the same day. But my CA State Return still sows pending. My sister just did her taxes yesterday using Turbo Tax as well and both got accepted yesterday. I never had this issue before. If it is a Turbo Tax issue, it should be corrected immediately. Can someone bring some kind of light this issue? Thanks.
Let’s flood their Twitter. Otherwise, they won’t do anything.
Here is all they have for us, which was published in 2019:
They stayed quiet after my last post. Please bring more attention to this tweet.

I reached out to the president and other 2 people whom someone posted their email addy's. Sasan reached out and said my specific file has been forwarded to a specialist for review. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this.
Please keep us updated. Thanks.
