it looks TT does not care any amount of issues expressed in the community. My return filed on 02/06 was pending long and returned rejected on 02/21 stating that form 1116 had issues (thought TT should have detected it) and i rectified and refiled on the same day. Now it says "Return received and will be forwarded to taxing agency at the appropriate time" - not sure what is appropriate time?
So update although I’m pending through turbo tax software still I called the irs and spoke to a representative and she told me it’s been rejected because of my daycare payment information not being entered correctly. She said that the software that I’m using should have told me that. I asked her could I file through another software because it was rejected and she said yes so guess what good bye turbo tax!!!!! Had I not called it would have continued to say I’m pending like it still does now. But that’s ok. Prayers for all the fillers still in pending status I’m out. Thank God
Could you share what number you called?
I’ve called twice and the wait was, as expected, absolutely awful. Willing to try again if it will help me out. Previously they’ve told me that they did not have my return.
BTW.. congrats on being freed from TT. 🎉
@Teek21 [phone number removed] I didn’t check the status I went through the prompts for frequently asked questions. I waited about 15 minutes before a representative came on. She told me the only thing she can do is check and see if they were rejected and received. She told me that mine had been rejected because in one of the sections for my childcare payment a zero was entered and it couldn’t have a number in one and a zero in the other. If that makes sense. She told me it’s been rejected since I filed on February 8th and Them excepting them on feb 12th and that I should have got an email on my end that said that. But yet when I go in turbo tax site on the web and app it says I’m still pending as of today. Hopefully you can get yours straight too.
it just removed the number from my post so it’s the one that ends in1040
@Moore256 Thanks so much. I’m going to call again and hope for the best.
Please email me with my status
@Moore256 Well.. I called again. This time I was not told that they did not have my return. Instead, I was told that they can not tell me anything for 21 days from the date that I received my email telling me that the IRS had received my return. She also said that I would need to go thru the efile software provider that I used.
I never received an email telling me that the IRS had received my return and getting any answers about that from Turbo Tax has been a joke. How do we wait for a deadline based on something we never received to begin with ?
Not an expert, but I've been through this process now on two threads on this site, and finally had success, likely due to a change that TT made to their return processing software. I'm talking about the "form 1116 issue." I had previously followed the conversation around a problem that was holding up CA filers. That lasted several days.
In both of these cases, users had submitted their returns and they were in a Pending state. In this state, there is nothing much to do but complain about it, and hope that the TT team figures out what is causing the returns to get stuck at Pending. When they figure out and solve the problem on their side, they will reject the return, and you will get an email saying that the return is Rejected. At that point, you will receive some information about how to "fix" the return and resubmit it.
In the two cases I have seen, there really didn't seem to be anything to "fix" in the returns; likely, TT fixed something on their end. But the returns had to be rejected and resubmitted.
Here is the page that a TT Expert provided with information about the Pending status.
I feel for you, as I have been there. If I have misread your situation, please forgive me. Only tying to help.
@Teek21 @Yeah she tried to tell me that at first but I kindly explained when I filed and that I never even received a rejection or acceptance and it’s been well over 24-48 hours. She then asked me did I try the wmr tool on irs site I proceeded to tell her yes but it says that I have to wait 24-48 hours for an acceptance email again that I never received. She then said that I have to call who I filed with and I explained to her that the representative from turbo tax said that it was transmitted on their end and it’s still showing pending and that I needed to call the irs because it shows on their software it’s been sent. She then told me she can check and see if it was rejected and she put me on a brief hold and when she came back on the line she told. me it’s been rejected for my child’s care information but you know she used proper terms and forms and that the software should have told me that already and that there were other softwares I could use to file on the irs website. So like many who are pending you might have already been rejected but the software is not reporting it hence a problem with turbo tax.
@krsbozo I appreciate your input and point of view. That’s what we are all here for so thank you for that. I’m glad that you finally got some resolution.
Update Filed with another tax software my original one and got excepted within seconds of sending it. I can Expect my refund within 21 days. Did nothing different then what I did on turbo. It’s they software and they need to fix it. Hopefully the rest of you get some resolution
@Moore256 I did too I said forget this I’m over it! I was accepted 5 mins after I filed and my state was accepted a few minutes ago! But good luck to everyone who is still waiting.
I got a private message this evening from GabiU that included a copy of the email we all were told to look for last week. It basically said to look for an email within the week and that my efile status should change by end of week either to accepted, rejected, or with instructions on how to correct errors so that it will be approved. I still believe that it’s a TT issue with software or coding but they are saying they are taking steps to resolve it. Now I’m just wondering if I should go ahead and file with another service or keep waiting and hope for the best. What happens if they’ve started a return for us but we file with someone else? Do we still get charged ?
@Teek21 @They buying more time. Think about it everybody was supposed to receive the email last week on the 19th yet no email. Then you get a private message mind you there are still people on here facing the pending issue. So why wasn’t it sent to everybody? Not only that I think those on here that are saying it’s not turbo tax software are watchers for the company. Also instead of turbo tax saying hey it’s a possibility of our software having a glitch please give us some time to fix it we apologize for any inconvenience they have/ had us on a forum asking everybody else how to resolve the issue while they had sharks watching the forums to make sure any credible response didn’t blame them for their software. Let’s see how long this next email take smh
