Where is the box I need to check to allow my parent to claim me as a dependent? I have to amend a return to check this box but unfortunately I never asks me.

On an amended return, TurboTax won't ask this question again and there is no clear area I can go to check this box. Anyone have any idea on how to find this box on an amended return?

If you are amending to be a dependent you don't enter anything There is no box.

Particularly you leave line 24 blank.

Then you go to the EXPLANATION.

there you state you are amending "to allow someone to claim me"

Look in the MY INFO tab and edit yourself ...

If you filed before your parents and now their e-file is being rejected----they cannot e-file this time at all. The only way they can file and claim you as a dependent now is to print sign and mail their own tax return. Waiting for you to amend will not help them. They can only mail their return.
