Hello @JLayton @I’m not sure either but I efiled and after the stupid update the information I had been entering for 11 months now shows info incorrect or not matching so it sucks and that’s that I efiled January 31,2019 and still haven’t got my tax refund yet it’s very frustrating and I’ve been working this whole pandemic sucks axx but yeah... too I haven’t got my stimulus so idk wtf is going on I been patient for too long but I feel like madea at the super market parking lol lmfaooo

@Jessica16, I'm getting the same error message!

I'm trying to find out what is going on with my refund because last year the IRS sent me a letter telling me that my SS came up for someone who is dead(after I e-filed) which I'm not. I've sent the IRS all the paperwork they asked for to prove that I am not deceased, and here we are almost a year later and no answers. I got my stimulus check and my state tax refund, so I know this is an error on the part of the IRS.

I've worked since I was 16 and I've never had as much trouble with the IRS as I am having now.

@ThedaBara1885 @Thank you so much for getting back to me! Yes crazy right like ok so how did my state which is California approve me for my state refund so what’s up with the federal. I’ve had the same job since 2016 . I don’t even want to call the irs because I don’t want another letter. Also, I’ve been very anxious so I’ve been checking the irs page since the update started just in case it updated sooner, it said it would finish updating 7am eastern time so here it would’ve been 4am and when I tried to input my info to submit to see the update it said the website is down so I kept trying after 4am almost every 30 minutes until 1pm today and then it changed to my information I entered was incorrect...so hopefully it’s just their system trying to catch up with all the info because so am trying to see when I’ll get my stimulus using the other I guess link on the website so hopefully it’s updated by Wednesday the latest I’m really hoping for my refund before I file my 2020 taxes. I wish you the best of luck as well and I’ll keep updating on here. Can’t tell you what a relief it is to have or see someone else comment a similar experience because I’ve been googling and I’ve only came across some comments from a few years back that were somewhat similar.

I filed electronically March 19 and only two weeks ago, the status changed from accepted to processing. Now after the update, I get the message that no info can be found. I haven't received any correspondence via mail either. All my info is correct. when I use the go2 app, it claims my info is incorrect. Again it is correct. I'm not a happy camper. I, like so many others, would like to know what's going on.

@Feathers64 @Hello. Very frustrating however, I have been googling quite a bit and in the past when it’s done this some people report that writhing a few days or 2 weeks the site goes back to actually recognizing the info and shows an update and some people were saying that they ended up receiving a direct deposit or check in the mail without seeing an update which I really hope is the case. I keep checking to see if I’ll get the stimulus which I should I work about 77 hours and I’ve made under $19k just working my part time job so that qualifies me for the stimulus just as last time but I wonder if this update on the it’s site has messed with my stimulus because it’s going off of what was submitted for our 2019 taxes. Thankfully October was the last letter I received which was in the 6th of October 2019 so I think until the end of January early February we should have our refunds I’m really hoping

My fiancé filed his 2019 return in February 4th 2020 and they audited it due to a small mistake, it’s now been over a year and for the past 4-5 months every time he calls they say "we need more time". It was already sent to his turbo tax bank account and sent back since TurboTax cancelled the card due to inactivity, so now every time he calls he gets told he needs to wait 8-10 weeks.. and other bull.. we still haven’t received the second stimulus or the refund for 2020.. probably won’t either.. i Just don’t understand why they are allowed to hold back 2 tax refunds, one for over a year but if you owe, you better not be a day late..

Why did it state this was a solved post when it is not. I went through HR Block and filed my taxes with a specialist. I got the very first stimulus check and that was it. Now we are about to file taxes again so they will owe me again for this tax return as well. THEN I never got the 2nd stimulus check and now they are sending out a 3rd one and I won't have that. Do you KNOW how much money that is that I could be using to fix my house and stack my fridge etc. They give no guidance they don't care if you call they don't want you to contact them but what about us that are suffering out here? You owe us the money now give us the (explicit) money like you would be hounding us if we owed IRS. They would be garnishing your pay and everything.

One thing we have learned in the past year is the government does not care about people and their financial struggles. Here we are in the middle of a pandemic and they are fighting about sending out stimulus checks and taxes when it's been over a year. I got 1 $1,200 check to help me and they want to argue if they should be giving people more stimulus checks? 1,200 a year you think that helps America? This is all very infuriating and then to get on the phone with someone with an attitude because you need help getting your money is even worse. This country has a really really REALLY big issue right now. I want my DANG MONEY NOW!

For more information on the status of your 2019 refund you may wish to call the IRS.  To contact the IRS, please review the steps and information below:

IRS Support Number: (800) 829-1040

To reach a live agent at the IRS support number, follow these steps:

1.      Select your preferred language.

2.      Press 2 for “Personal Income Tax”

3.      Press 1 for “Form, Tax History, or Payment”

4.      Press 3 for “All Other Questions”

5.      Press 2 for “All Other Questions”

6.      Do not enter your SSN or EIN. It will ask you twice; do not enter anything.

7.      Press 2 for “Personal or Individual Tax Questions”

They are available Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time (Alaska & Hawaii follow Pacific Time).

If you don't receive your stimulus payment by the time you file your tax return, you can make an adjustment on your 2020 tax return for stimulus payments you qualify for, but have not received.

To do this in TurboTax, please follow these steps:

  1. Enter the information in your return.
  2. Click Federal Review at the top of your screen.
  3. On the screen, Let's make sure you got the right stimulus amount, click Continue.
  4. You will be asked about the amounts of first round and second round stimulus payments you received
  5. TurboTax will then calculate the amount of stimulus payment remaining that you are still entitled to.  This will show as a credit on line 30 of the 1040.

This is no help, the same thing that I have been told for about a year now. You call and it says that they are busy and to call later or call another day. I have called literally at every time slot and day and it's the same thing over and over and over and over.

I am having the same problem

Filled up my form on May-1-2019. Turbotax said was accpepted right after.

But for month I was getting the Processing status at IRS.

Now I am  getting the "We cannot provide any information about your refund."

This is extremely disrespectful and annoying. I never got any mail or email saying there were something wrong that needed to be amended. So what now? Our money just vanished?

I'm sorry, but I'm really not trying to be mean or sarcastic but this post was absolutely no help. Do we read what others are posting before getting excited and posting a reply? You basically just told us to do what the person up there to do and what everyone else keeps saying to do but I don't think you are actually reading the issues.

Again I have contacted the IRS 98989 times and to no avail. Half the time the person hangs up on you once the call connects or during the conversation. Instead of understanding people need help and calling that person back they do not call you back. That one phone call could have caused a downfall in a persons life because the IRS person did not want to call the customer back. Like it's been done to me over 3 times now. I have called and called and called no resolution. Sometimes they don't want to talk or to help. Meanwhile this $4000+ they are withholding could change my life in alot of ways and help me out financially.

I have used the HR block expert to file my taxes so I am sure they know what they are doing and my rep is even confused about what is going on. No one has any real answers.

There are no resolutions for this and the IRS doesn't care if you did not get your money or stimulus checks. I need 2 stimulus checks and 2 years worth of taxes they have yet to send me and daily I am suffering. No matter what the heck I do no one cares and it is not resolved. This is how people lose it and do crazy stuff because they want and need their money. If we had to pay the IRS they would have BEEN took our money but because they owe us they talk to us and treat us like garbage. There should be no reason I am fighting with the IRS to get me back MY money they OWE ME. This world is just dumb in how it operates and until they keep affecting peoples lifes negatively they really wont care. This is the reason people resort to other means of venting their frustrations because no one is doing anything. I am ready to go outside and start doing something about it but what can I really do besides cause problems for others?

Completely agree.  Have encountered the same problems as others who have posted here.  2019 return and refund have been with IRS since May 2020.  Took until September 2020 for Where’s My Refund to show return received and being processed.  In November 2020, changed to return is still being processed; a refund date will be provided when available.  Same status on February 16, 2021.  Was dismayed to see on February 27, 2021, the status was “We cannot provide any information about your refund.”

Throughout this time, I called or attempted to call the IRS on multiple occasions and actually got through to a person about 8 times (each time after about 45 - 60 minute wait).  Was told there were no issues, they still have a backlog, and to be patient.  Have not been able to get through again since February 27, 2021 despite numerous tries.  Like everyone else, after waiting on hold, get told about high volume calls and try again.

Feel the same frustration as others here.  IRS is inefficient, incompetent and not at all capable of helping people.   I have sent letters to my Congressional rep which have been ignored. Wrote to House Ways & Means Oversight Committee expressing concern.  But of course no response.  I am certain there are many others with similar frustrations with IRS and encourage everyone to contact whoever they can (Congress, Press, White House, etc) that might bring attention to the mess at the IRS.
