As stated in the article -
Rick Heineman, a spokesperson for Intuit, said the company’s pixel “does not track, gather, or share information that users enter in TurboTax while filing their taxes,” although Intuit “may share some non-tax-return information, such as username, with marketing partners to deliver a better customer experience,” like not showing Intuit ads on Facebook to people who have accounts already. The company said it’s in compliance with regulations but has modified the pixel to no longer send usernames.
First, it is a statement by Intuit spokesperson - are you really going to believe him? Second, the statement given was they DID provide information to Facebook. Third, they use the bait and switch - "may share some" and "such as". Well, that means they shared more than usernames. Where is an itemized list of everything, each, all, totally, they shared on us all?
YES!!!!!!!!! Just saw a massive class action lawsuit is going to be filed against Intuit. Hey Intuit - you screw with us and you're going lose big time. Can't wait until Discovery comes along. Bet you all $100 Intuit was sharing A LOT MORE than just usernames.

If you believe every company that provides tax preparation software lies to you about how the tax data is used then do not use any tax preparation software.
If you do not want to use any type of software to assist in completing a tax return, the IRS has a free file program available if your AGI is $73,000 or less.
Go to this IRS website for the free file program - https://www.irs.gov/filing/free-file-do-your-federal-taxes-for-free
Wholly cow - your one of them! You're an employee of Intuit trolling the "community" message board. What is your name, address and phone?
@pmb8971 I am not nor have ever been an employee of TurboTax or Intuit. I am a volunteer on this forum that assists other users who have problems or issues with their tax returns or the TurboTax program.
I have been completing tax returns for almost 60 years and have used TurboTax ever since the software became available on Windows based platform, about 30 years ago (+ or -).
Whether you believe the TurboTax privacy and security policies or not makes no difference to me.
"Don't use any tax prep software" love that phrase....passing it onto the attorneys who are going to find out who you are. A Class Action is going to rip Intuit wide open on this.

If you do not believe anything that anyone from Intuit tells you, why do you bother to even ask the question?
