What does it mean that will only print to harddrive? The print function is not working, only continues to save and not print. And when did print, it was full document, back to back, not single pages in selected range which then has pages that should not be submitted going to IRS print on back of other critical pages. How can this be fixed?
Latest update fixed print problem with my Turbotax
Although I had already submitted my return in February having saved PDF using the workarounds from this discussion group, I decided to see whether I could now print (or save to PDF) in the more conventional way.
Miracles do happen -- they finally seem to have fixed this problem!
Without the help here I would probably have started over and used H&R Block. No way I would submit a return without a PDF saved. What would I do if the IRS were audit/ask questions. Without a copy to refer with you can't respond!
Thank you all for the sage advice and moral support!
Same issue. Can't get TurboTax 2024 to print as the pervious versions. There is a work around saving the document as a PDF, then printing the PDF....Ludicrous!
I've been loyal to Intuit since the mid 90's. So, I solved the problem my self.
I'M SWITCHING TO H&R BLOCK. I'm simply not putting up with this anymore.
I switched to HR Block myself. Be sure to apply for a refund from Turbotax and get your money back on their defective product. You'll need a copy of your invoice and the license code.
Switching to H & R Block is an option. However, after I emailed a help request to the President's office several employees of Intuit/Turbotax called me. Anna was one who called. These people stayed in contact until the software was fixed. Print issue resolved. One problem in twenty years isn't too bad.
Considering the great assistance I received, I'll stay with Turbotax.

True. I just tested the software (April, 2025). Of course, there was an update that was downloaded. It finally printed. Yes, it was resolved.
The short story is Intuit has an entire year to work out these sort of bugs, not to mention knowing about the problem when the software is released.
I have zero (ZERO) tolerance for accepting the "1 issue in 20 years attitude, not bad" attitude.
No, it's not acceptable IMO for this large of a company to publish a MISTAKE.
I've used TT for over 30 years, buying the Deluxe, free Fed e-file and state (manual). Every year I e-file Fed, and manually print/mail state (Colorado). This year I went throught the process and when I got to filing, I went ahead with the process to e-file Fed, and expected to get the opportunity to manually print state forms for mailing. For some reason, when I printed the state forms it said "Electronic Forms" "do not file with state". . .I went back to see if I had the wrong option. Spend hours on phone with Turbo Tax to resolve (the bureaucracy to identify oneself is ludicrous when all you need is s/w support help!). After frustration with typical reps who follow scripted responses, I was transferred to a "tax specialist" . . which exasperated me more because I didn't need "tax assistance" I needed software assistance. I had filed Fed e-file successfully.
But fortunately she was familiar with the s/w, and she suggested "maybe" I selected "file state e-file" . I know I didn't but . . maybe. So I asked how do I get out of this loop.
I figured it out myself so this could be a solution if you're having this problem.. .
1) go back to file, and instead of filing Fed e-file, select you want to file manually/print
2) then it will ask you to print your fed (say I'll do it later) and select "print state forms"
3) then it will let you print out the "official tax forms for filing". . and wha-la. It worked.
Hope this helps!
Mistakes are part of life. How many Space Shuttles have exploded? My career was a Naval Aviator. A mistake while landing on an aircraft carrier at night has no forgiveness; only death. Just a little perspective.
I was an unhappy customer and Turbotax knew it. They fixed the problem and hopefully will not make same mistake for 2025 returns.
