I been dealing with the same issue. Random 60 day review. BUT, I FINALLY SEE THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THIS DARK AND NERVE WRECKING TUNNEL...
So, I checked my tax transcripts again right now on the irs site, and my account shows:
Examination closed for review 3/12
Refund freeze removed 4/6
Notification sent 4/6
(I found they pre-date their steps)
Last time I checked my transcripts it wasn’t saying this... So I’m assuming they’re sending my deposit 4/6... finally.... However I imagine that most random reviews will be cleared up on or before the annual tax deadline of April 15th... Unless your taxes consist of unique circumstances, which you would be made aware of by them. PS. Review and audit are not the same thing, in reference to a question by someone on this feed. K thank you, hope this helps.

I came across this issue for filing 2019. I was curious of when you actually received your refund after you were contacted about the 60 day hold?
Turbo Tax will not have a status on your refund. If the IRS website says processing, this means they are working on it.

How long do I have to wait for my refund?
@pomai96795 The IRS is asking taxpayers to wait 60 days after sending in the required information. If it has been longer than 60 days and you have not received your refund, then please contact the IRS using the phone number you received in the letter.
I’ll know after 4/6/2020... I sure hope so, because this is stressing me out.
This is not an audit. This is random selection and computer screening. During a 60 day review, the IRS is generally examining any number of items reported on your return typically using their own records - such as W-2 information, dependents listed, etc. This does not necessarily indicate a problem with any information on your return. A certain number of these types of reviews are done at random.
If the IRS needs additional information from you, they will request it in writing. These requests are always by mail - please do not respond to any e-mail requests for information, as these will not be from the IRS.
Unless you receive a request from the IRS for more information, there isn't anything that you need to do during this time period.

Why is my return being reviewed?
While most returns are accepted as filed, some are selected for examination. The IRS examines some federal tax returns to determine if income, expenses, and credits are being reported accurately. The IRS selects returns for examination using various methods which include random sampling, computerized screening, and comparison of information received by the IRS such as Forms W-2 and 1099. Having your return selected for examination does not suggest that you made an error or were dishonest.

@Patrick williams If you received the CP05 Notice, please see the information below per the IRS: You don’t need to take any action. Please do not call us until 60 days after the notice date and only if you haven't received your refund or heard from us by then.
I just read your post stating you had been waiting 6 months for you return in 2019. I hope you see this because I would really like to know if you ever did receive your return and if so, how much longer did it take them?
I just received it this week. Best of luck to you, I know it’s a frustrating wait.
