Tax Topic 570

I filed  my taxes on  01/27/2022 and I was accepted  the same  day. Now the Tax  Topic  570 is showing  up on my tax  transcript  with a future  date  of 03/07/2022. What  does  the  future  date  mean  beside  the 570 code? Does that  date  mean  thats  when my refund  should be released to me?

The IRS explains TC 570 means a freeze code has been placed on the account that holds the refund from being issued. One of the reasons why this code could have been placed on your tax transcripts is if you submitted your tax return with missing income statements.

This code indicates additional verification is needed and your return processing is frozen until further resolution. You cannot do much until the IRS provides an update (via a formal notice) and/or reconciles the issue internally.

If you paid your fees with your refund, that is what "payment completed" means.  When you opt to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund, your refund is handled through the Santa Barbara Tax Products Group (SBTPG). For more information, see Who provides Pay With My Refund?

We cannot advise on what specific dates mean that are issued by the IRS via transcripts and WMR, as those are estimates.  We do not receive details from the IRS concerning this once your return has been transmitted to them.
