Hey there guys, not sure what I did wrong but for my State Income it's saying Tax Due for $421. I make a decent wage but NOTHING close to what anyone in town should say is a lot. in fact I'd say I'm barely hanging on by a small pillow of savings. I'm stressed now, because it's saying due, I've got enough to pay for said DUE, but I don't get WHY I'm being charged over $400. WHAT DID I FILE??!? I thought my taxes being taken out of my paychecks was enough, this makes NO SENSE. this ruins literally everything, I've got zero chance at getting a car now, I've got a bike to my name and will most likely not be making it at all in progressing further in my life if I'm being charged that much.

First double check to make sure that the amounts you entered from your W-2 were entered correctly. Check boxes 16 and 17. Make sure you did not add a zero or misplace a decimal point. The usual reason for owing state tax is not having enough tax withheld from your paychecks, so if that is what happened you will want to change that with your employer for the upcoming year.
Which state? Any income other than wages?
