Social Security Taxable Issue

I inadvertently forgot to include the taxable portion of my social security benefits on my 2024 tax return. Will the IRS correct this mistake thereby reducing my refund or do I need to file an amended tax return?

It is recommended not to amend until the return is processed and refund or tax paid is settled because the IRS might correct the error. Wait and see.
