So I just got informed by the irs that my refund is less by 500 dollars because one of my departments social security number was unable to be verified?? What ? Um that's a bunch of BS

I think that is just one of the reasons.  Was your dependent born in 2020?  Do you have $500 on 1040 line 30?  Did you already get all the 1st and 2nd stimulus checks?  You had to enter what you already got into the right 2 boxes or Turbo Tax gave it to you again.
