Why have I not gotten my federal refund yet.  The IRS informed me that civista bank has it.. who in turn sent me to tpg who does not answer calls or emails   I have put in a complaint with the department of justice attourney general

Your tax refund was not sent to TurboTax.   TurboTax does not handle your refund at all.

 

Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC  (SBTPG) is the bank that handles the Refund Processing Service when you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund. This option also has an additional charge from the bank that processes the transaction.

You have not mentioned how long ago the IRS issued your refund.   If you entered incorrect banking information for your direct deposit, then it  gets into a tricky situation.   The refund goes back to the third party bank and that bank has to issue and mail a check to you.   Have you checked to make sure your account and routing number were entered correctly for your direct deposit?

 

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, then the deposit goes back to the third party bank that handles refund processing, and that third party bank will mail you a check.   It will come in a plain envelope via first class mail so make sure you open all mail and do not assume anything is junk mail without opening it.

Well I have called several times at 10 am their time to be on hold from what their system said was 2 minutes suddenly I am waiting for an hour or more up to 4 and when it seems like I get connected I get hung up on. they do not respond to calls or to any submissions to them.   As soon as I see the class action suit I am signing this is crazy.  I have been on hold up to a week or better with the times added up that I have called.  And the civista bank states they are not connected to tpg they just hold the money .

they supposedly mailed it in April after my bank returned it because I inadvertantly missed a number.  Its been a week and they still not have replied to my secure message that civista bank rep stated they would answer.
