Refund

hello, I have gotten my refund back today but it was almost 2,000 short. I’m not sure what’s going on and I think a lot of others are experiencing this. i need some help on why I was shorted.  or how i can get it back? i feel this is unfair.

Does the IRS website indicate that you were sent less than what was reported on your federal tax return Form 1040 Line 34? - https://www.irs.gov/refunds

yes, when I checked it said I would be sent less but did not indicate why. And then when I looked this morning on my bank account it was even less than what the IRS had said it would be.

You will need to wait for the IRS to send you a letter which will have the changes the IRS made to the return which changed the refund. If you disagree with the IRS there will be a procedure in the letter to dispute the IRS changes.
