filed Return Status: Accepted 02/21/2021
Received first letter 04.March 2021 4464 C asking us to wait 60 days
The second letter today dated 18.March 2021 another 60 days ( new start day)
First Time using TT, I have two W2's, unemployment during the Covid lockdown, stock market loss, and 2 kids I have claimed a stimulus check for my daughter we never received in April 2020 $500
all data was pulled to my account directly from payroll to TD Ameritrade and other stock market brokerage,
I have reviewed my tax return a couple of times and I see no mistakes or errors anywhere,
why the IRS wants to hold my refund for 60 days I didn't do anything wrong and everything documented! I never encounter such a problem until I filed with TT, frustrating!
TAX Advocate wants us to be in hardship I don't have a hardship what I have to do?
any advise? recommendation?

Yes. Since the Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS) is not being helpful the next best thing may be to go to a local office or, if required, make an appointment with the local office. It does seem unusual that you received two separate letters for the same purpose two weeks apart.
Keep in mind that the under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) unemployment could be tax free up to $10,200 if your income is below $150,000. If you fit this criteria, they may very well be automatically adjusting your return and refund for this before releasing it.
The IRS does not want returns amended for unemployment at this time.
Thank you for ur answer,
I didn’t receive my stimulus as well, the situation were my refund being in hold by the irs effect receiving my stimulus ?
Yes, it is possible that the IRS is reviewing your return and holding your stimulus payment until they have completed the process.
We know that customers don’t have insight into when the IRS processed their return, since it’s not always directly related to when they submitted their return or when it was “accepted” by the IRS. This requires the IRS to fully process their return in the IRS systems. “Where’s my Refund” will show a customer if that has been completed by today, but may not correlate perfectly with when the stimulus payments were processed.
The best advice that we have at this time is for you to continue to check the IRS Get My Payment tool for the latest information, but it will not update more than once per day. Also, in these cases it will only update once their original payment is rejected by the bank that owns that account.
We want you to understand we’re doing everything we can to help you track down and get your payment.
This really bad news, there are no reason to hold stimulus and refunds, they are very slow and very bad process, if i have typo error in my taxes they have to point on it. Instead they hold and freeze everything related to me and my family,
i give up trying to contact them with no real human answer, TAS says i am rejected because I don’t have case or real problem, TAS want someone about to die so they can help!
sorry TT this is my first and last year to use ur service!
I had the very same thing 1 letter 3/16 then one 3/30. I did have unemployement on it...still waiting.
In my case turned out that irs did not receive my wages from my both employers, they received one only that what happened, now i am working with the tax advocate to prove my income for that specific company by sending paystubs ..etc.
it will take over 2 month to verify my income what a sad story,
it is not my fault ir my employer fault since they reported my income correctly, however the irs did not recognize it or something happen I don’t know why they didn’t receive it and no one knows why.
I advise you to check with tax advocate
I think I'm in the same boat. It's been over 11 weeks and have had 2nd letter saying another 60 days. But from what I hear nobody that worked for this business has gotten theirs either. And we had an issue with the wrong employer number on w2. I honestly think my employer was cooked and at this point don't believe the co. Ever sent the info.
