Been going around in circles for months my refund was supposedly sent to my account august 31 2022 account closed was sent back to TurboTax who say on 12th September they sent check but was returned undeliverable by post office TurboTax claims October 21st they sent it back to irs and can take up to 15 weeks how does an electronic transfer take 15 weeks called IRS who said they are not seeing a return gave me number to TurboTax who now say they took there fees and returned remaining refund to IRS fast forward end of December IRS have nothing system will generate a check for returned refund however they informed because the contract for the fees is between me and TurboTax by law TurboTax has to send the entire refund back to IRS a check can not be generated for refund minus any fees it has to be sent back in the same amount IRS refunded a trace has been initiated however now it could be three months before I see my refund for 2021 what kind of shady business is really going on I have used this service for past four years no issues all I want is what’s mine be honest TurboTax return my refund it’s not like I denying your fees I worked hard for my money and your stealing it an entire year and nothing but beating around the bush with one lie after another

First TT never touches your refund.  

So your refund went from the IRS to the processing bank since you had the TT fees withheld from the refund.

Then the processing bank tried to make the DD to your account but it was closed.

Then they tried to mail you a check to the address on your return but the post office said it was "undeliverable" ... something to take up with the PO if you think they were wrong.

So the processing bank sent the refund back to the IRS who will eventually try to mail a check to the address on your last filed return which the post office says is "undeliverable".

SO ... check with the IRS ... did they try to mail out the check yet ?  https://www.irs.gov/refunds

Check your tax return ... is the address correct ?  If it is not you should have mailed in an 8822 form to the IRS months ago.  Now at this late date the better action is to make sure the address on the 2022 return you will file shortly has the correct address on it so it updates the IRS files and the 2021 refund can finally be sent.

I’m in constant contact with IRS they are the ones who have twice said they do not have refund and no check has been processed or even tried to process they have my new address and have now started a trace to find refund starting with the bank. They also said if  refund is returned it will need to be in the amount that they paid out not minus any fees as it won’t be recognized and as far as they are concerned any fees are an contract between me and turbo tax not them there for meaning I would now have to send fees to turbo tax. I have had several different responses from Turbo tax or TPG each time something different not once did any of them say IRS tried sending a check they have not got the money to refund and according to the one rep it can take up to 15 weeks for IRS to get refund back. Bottom line now refund can not be found and I have to wait up to three months for IRS to do investigation into its where about, maybe before you get so hasty with responses you should yourself look into things IRS are the ones who also can not figure out where it is.
