My federal refund is going on 6 weeks now. Still no deposit. I am not happy about this. It has been accepted and been sitting on processing for weeks now. Anybody else??

Paid the extra cost to have it direct deposit to receive sooner.  This is crazy

I am having the same issue. I filed my 2019 tax return on April 05, and the status is still being processed as of now. My stimulus check is also being delayed too. I have no idea.

You did not pay extra money to have the refund faster.  If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, you paid the third party bank for that service so that you would not have to pay TT upfront before you filed.  No one said you would get your refund "faster" by doing that.  You still have to wait for the IRS to process your return like everyone else.

Waiting is frustrating—refunds are taking longer in many cases.  These are not normal times.  It is not possible for TurboTax to speed up the IRS for you.  It seems to be taking longer than usual for them to process returns.  They are short staffed; and they are processing millions of tax returns at the same time that they have been burdened with the task of processing millions of stimulus checks.  The IRS is not taking calls right now.

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 20 of your Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

To track your state refund:

On the IRS site you are also offered the use of an app called IRS2Go

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

There is no extra payment for 'quick filing' or using direct deposit with TurboTax.   If you have e-filed and your return and it was accepted, Where's My Refund is the best place to get up to date information regarding your refund.   If it is still processing, that means the IRS is reviewing something on your return, but only the IRS knows the status.    @Melissapaniagua8914

Thank you, I am sure you understand that this money is seriously life changing for me at this moment. I haven't worked in months, and I am still waiting on unemployment.  Also I am missing one of my dependents stimulus check.  The government gods are against me

Thank you!

You can check the IRS website  to check the status of your return.  You  must enter the primary SSN, filing status, and the gross amount of the refund. You may also call IRS @ 1-800-829-1040. The gross amount is what is on your actual tax form, not what you may receive after fees, etc.

The IRS is hard to contact, see this.  Each return must be cross checked for the normal and now with the new laws:

  • stimulus- is it correct, pay missing amounts, do they need to be added for the new stimulus
  • unemployment - is it on there, was it filed with the $10,200 subtraction, does it need to be adjusted
  • premium tax credit - is it on there, is there an amount due, adjust the return
  • EIC - is it on, were they banned, is there a record of release to claim?
  • Child credit -anybody else claim, how old are kids, what is allowed
  • Typos, offsets, and so on for still more, it is a long process this year to check each return for so many things.
  • If there is a problem, you will get a letter explaining the issue.

The IRS is also processing returns mailed in last year and handling the current stimulus. They have scheduled this summer to adjust unemployment on returns.

The more items on your return, the more complicated the processing. Some people are getting their refund in two parts.
