My bank returned my tax refund to the IRS on March 26th. When will the IRS receive and mail my refund?

Once the IRS receives the rejected deposit from the bank, it should take between 1-3 weeks to receive a paper check.

Do they receive the funds right away? Is it fair to say to expect it by the end of the month?

We are unable to tell you if you should expect it by the end of the month. Have you checked Where’s My Refund? once the IRS receives the funds back from your bank it will be posted on this site and then will be updated when a check  is mailed.

Yes I have. It hasn’t updated since they originally sent my refund through direct deposit. To my knowledge my bank sent the refund back to the IRS on March 26th. I would assume they have already received the funds?
