Mine says completed 3/15/24 but until now no update or check.
TurboTax does not process your return for a refund. Once your return has been accepted by the IRS, TurboTax is no longer involved in the process. TurboTax is not advised of the status of your return at all. Privacy Laws prohibit sharing client information between TurboTax and the IRS. Once TurboTax submits to IRS and the IRS accepts the return then TurboTax is no longer involved.
All inquiries, in this case, should be made to the IRS.
How many days after was it deposited?
It will depend.
If you are inquiring as to a return you have amended, please see this link for additional details as well as a link to the IRS where you can enter information and track your refund for your amended return.
If you are asking about a return that was filed for 2023, please see this link for steps on tracking your refund.
My ammended return was mailed in 3/2023. (Its now 17 month's later) Was told by the IRS on the phone, (and actually making an appointment at IRS office) t can take up to 2 years to receive a refund!! Is this true? Is our federal government this efficient? Now I call ever 2 months. Keep getting a response of "you should receive a check next month" , (have heard this like 3 times) can I just deduct this refund from next year's income? Because I seriously doubt I will ever get it.
No, you cannot just deduct it or enter anything about it on your next tax return or next tax due amount. There is no way to do that on a tax return form. Each tax year is separate. Sorry you are going through so much aggravation with the IRS over your amended return. Only the IRS can tell you what they are doing with your return.
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 3 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.
