It's been 45 days and I still haven't received my refund. Is there any reason why? Is this normal?

It's definitely outside the usual, but is not uncommon.  About 1 in 10 filers don't get their refunds within the usual 21 days.   Some returns take longer for additional processing due to specific items in the return.  Some are pulled at random for more thorough investigation.  We can tell you how to check on it.

Did you efile, or did you print, sign, and mail the return?

If you efiled, double-check with this tool to be sure the return was efiled successfully and accepted:

If that showed it was accepted (or if you mailed the return), what do you see at the IRS website below for the status of your Federal refund?

If that IRS tool shows that the refund has been sent, report back for more info.
