You can also call the Taxpayer Advocate Service toll-free at 1-877-777-4778, or fill out Form 911, Request for Taxpayer Advocate Service Assistance. The Taxpayer Advocate Service is an independent organization within the IRS and is your voice at the IRS. 

Another option is to contact your local federal congress person.

@meljen - based upon the IRS announcement yesterday, if I read between the lines, most ANYTHING received prior to 1/1/22 has been processed.   If you sent the tax return in after 1/1/22 (even if it was for a prior year, that is a WHOLE 'nother story).
