If I filed with turbo tax will I get a stimulus check direct deposited in my bank account still?

It doesn't matter. The bank the issues these cards is a subsidiary of green dot. The Santa Barbara bank said on their website that the IRS stimulus WONT be direct deposited on these cards. Anyone who has one will have a paper check sent to them. I think TurboTax needs to find a way to have this changed as it isn't fair.

Go to the Santa Barbara bank website. They are the Green dot company that sent the payments to our cards. The website clearly states that the people who have these cards WILL GET A PAPER CHECK.

It's true!!! Why do you think turbo tax keeps responding with bot answers? Every answer you see is reference to the IRS for information. TurboTax knows that millions of people are pissed for this mess up and will likely not use their service anymore for how irresponsible they have been during this time. I filed with turbo tax and went thru that bank. U fill out a separate direct deposit form for that bank. Look on your tax return LINE 21 A AND B THAT'S WERE THE MONEY IS GOING.. U DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT THIS EMAIL CAME FROM MY WALMART GREEN DOT CARD

I'm sorry to inform you that I DO KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. A Walmart Green dot is different. The bank that oversees the refund fees and advancements is called Santa Barbara bank TPG!!!! It is an entirely different entity than the Green Dot card you have. They were the ones facilitating the refund advance/loan. They were a third party to TurboTax. It ok though if you doubt me but that little thing in you hand is not just a phone so twittle your little thumbs and look up the bank I'm talking about. It's all there on their front page. You're dismissed!!!

Same here, still everything going on you never know what to believe because I feel like these people are working from home the ones for TurboTax I was on the phone with a guy for over an hour he tried everything to help me somehow put my bank account number in TurboTax because I would rather go there than on my card but he said there's no way to change it and that according to my W2 and everything that the routing and account numbers are the same so there should not be an issue and it should go on the card but I've been doing nothing but research and everyone saying anyway but if the fees were taken out or you got an advanced that it's different however like I said the Turbo Tax guy that I called said I'm should be all set it's just bul**bleep** and it's b******* that they can't put the site up for us to fix it but they can put a sign up for people who didn't pay their taxes just so they can put their information and so basically what they're saying is all you assholes who haven't done or paid your taxes this year are in luck because we're launching a site for you we're literally all they have to do is put in their social security in the bank account and they don't have to worry about a thing they're going to get their money but us people that filed like we were supposed to and pay our taxes and we're giving no choice but to get it on a card or screwed this is so screwed up and then they're making a website for us but they're not going to let us do it until it's too late probably in the checks are already mailed so what's the point

This is so unfair the people that actually pay their taxes already and filed are getting scrutinized and we're not being given an option because we did the advance and we're forced to get the card because that was the only option and now they've got that website for those people so they can update their information but they're making us wait to do it so sounds and seems like you and I are going to get paper checks and it's going to take forever or mess but if you do find anything out or get yours let me know thanks again remember we're all in this together

So I got the loan as well and the Turbo Tax Specialist I talked to said that we will not be getting the stimulus deposit our Turbo cards because they were issued through a third party bank because we got the loan so when IRS opens up the portal on the 17th for filers to update their direct deposit information and check the status of their stimulus checks that's when we need to put in our new bank information

You right!  I read that earlier when I looked into the Santa Barbara situation and what card they were talking about that they issued.  They are talking about a completely different loan than what Turbotax customers got.

I guess its a waiting game cause it doesn't make sense that the tax return I submitted says self-prepared with my banking routing and account number on it.

We are still waiting for IRS guidance regarding updating or providing direct deposit information for the stimulus payments and how they will be distributed to these types of accounts. We will have more information once the government finalizes the details.
