The IRS does not have my direct deposit information. What can I do?

In the coming weeks, Treasury plans to develop a web-based portal for individuals to provide their banking information to the IRS online, so that individuals can receive payments immediately as opposed to checks in the mail.

Thanks,  wish there was better information out there.  Everyone just says "Oh did you file your tax return, then everything is good to go, just sit back and wait."  When obviously that isn't true...

Also, just an FYI...

This is the supposed registration assistance page I think you were referring to.  Yet, if you try to use it, it recognizes you've already filed taxes and just kicks you through a loop.

No, that is not the portal I was referring to since that is Only for those who are not filing a 2019 tax return  and do not need to file a 2019 and they do not receive Social Security benefits.  That TurboTax registration link for the stimulus was set up and approved by the IRS.  It is Not the portal as mentioned in the IRS website for those who need to supply the IRS with direct deposit information and have already filed their 2019 tax returns and/or have to change the direct deposit information already with the IRS.

I am in the same situation as you.   Thus knowing the IRS did not have my direct deposit information, I updated it on their GetMyPayment site.    When my stimulus payment was finally processed, the site indicated it went to an account number which bears no resemblance to any account I have ever had.    I have to wonder... was it is a TurboTax account, since Turbotax technically wire transferred my amount due to the IRS???
