I need help finishing and filing an amendment for my 2020 tax return. The Turbo Tax program doesn't let me get past the Tax Payment Info.

I'm attempting to file an amendment for my 2020 taxes. The return has already been accepted by the IRS and I have also received my refund. The program on TurboTax allows me to enter all the information necessary until I come to the "Your Tax Payment Info" section. I enter all the bank information requested for the state and federal payments I'll have to make and when I enter the last piece of information I am brought back to the beginning of the "Your Tax payment Info" section. It just continues in a loop. I've signed out and back in many times and have tried to file the amendment several times over the last 2 weeks. Does anyone have any idea how to break the loop and file the amendment?

It may help to first log out of your TurboTax Online and delete your cookies.

On rare occasions, they may make your browser think you already did something that you still need to do. To fix that, you'll need to delete (clear) the cookies from your browser. For more information on how to delete your cookies on the browser you are using, please see How do I delete cookies?.

You can also try using a different browser to finish amending your returns.

I tried clearing the cookies from my Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome browsers and even down loaded Mozilla Firefox in an attempt to make the amendment go through. I then logged into TurboTax to try again but it just keeps recycling me back to the start of the payment page.

Due to the passing of the American Rescue Plan, there is a delay with the ability to amend returns. Please see the below TurboTax Help Article for more details and a link to sign up for an update when the amend option is available.
