How long does it take to get a check from tpg

@Brieanab - if you have your fees netted from your refund, regardless of who the tax preparer is, there is an account set up at Green Dot Bank, the parent of SBTPG.  It is not 'fake' it is real.  The IRS can only transmit the refund to a Bank and in this situation it is sent to Green Dot and placed in a unique bank account with your refund.  They take out the fees and then send on the remainder to your bank account at your bank.

The word 'fake' is a misnomer, but it is not well advertized how this process works.

yea… unfortunately.. but i just hope it’s actually in the mail my birthday is tomorrow; it would be a blessing to get it in the mail tomorrow

Yes ...as you posted   it comes in a plain envelope which can be mistaken for junk mail and thrown out by accident.

Before you cash the check look close at it.  See if it includes any interest on it.  It might say INT and $ at the bottom.  If there is interest you have to report it next year, interest is taxable.  So write it down or make a copy of the check to keep with your tax return records.

did you ask why? only the place where you went to cash it can give you the reason.

@Brieanab 1) what bank is it drawn off of and 2) did you go to a Bank to cash it and 3) do you have an account at that bank to deposit it?

CEFCU & I had a bank account to deposit it in

Just deposit the check then wait for it to process ... cashing it will probably not be allowed.
