@martinjulie18  The IRS has not begun to accept/reject 2019 returns yet.  They will start that on January 27, so right now your return is sitting on the server.  Do not try to change anything on it.  Sometime after 1-27 you will get the email that tells you if your return is accepted or rejected.

It can vary but typically it takes 24-48 hours. However, for some taxpayers, the identity-protection safeguards implemented by the IRS in recent years may account for longer wait times.

No two returns are alike, and many different factors can affect the timing of your refund after the IRS receives your return for processing.

Once you've been accepted, start tracking your federal refund at the IRS Where's My Refund site.

Yes, I got accepted. And it's saying it's pending. I got accepted on the 29th January body IRS and still not yet. Got a date. As though to when I'm going to receive my taxes.

I got accepted on the 27th, some others I know and myself don't even see the progress bar right now. I've heard someone with kids got approved yesterday so hopefully we hear something soon. It'd be nice. My 21 day mark would be today so fingers crossed people!!

It took the irs about 4 minutes to accept mine. But the only thing I filed was my w2s.

The best way to get an accurate direct deposit date is to use the Where's My Refund tool on the IRS website.

To track your Federal refund, visit the Where’s My Federal Refund? site here: https://www.irs.gov/refunds. Updates are made daily, usually overnight. You may also download the IRS2Go app to check your Federal refund status. You can track the status of your state return by following the directions in the following TurboTax FAQ.

Note: You will need your social security number, filing status, and refund amount in order to track your refund.

I filed back on July 15 2020 and been checking on the status of my refund and nothing. Called TurboTax customer service and irs only to get misdirected. First time filling.

Did you efile, or did you choose to print and mail the return?

If you efiled, you should double-check to be sure the return was efiled successfully and accepted.
If you used Online TurboTax, you can sign into your Online Account and check the efile status at the Tax Home.  What term is shown there--accepted, rejected, printed, started, ready to mail, or what?

If the status at the Tax Home shows that your efiled return was accepted, you can use the "Where's My Refund" tool at the IRS website below to monitor the status of your Federal refund.
https://www.irs.gov/Refunds

NOTE: When using that tool, be sure to use the correct SSN and filing status.  For the refund amount, use only the Federal refund amount, and not any total refund amount that includes a state refund.
The amount to use is on your Federal Form 1040, Line 21a.
