How do I fix a rejected state return from a prior year that I recently amended?

I recently amended my Wisconsin state form for 2020.  When I filed the amended state return, it was rejected.  I received an email notice of the rejection and was instructed to log into TurboTax to fix the problem.  The error message I received is:  
/ReturnState/AuthenticationHeader/TransmissionDetail/TotalPreparationSubmissionTs - Data in the Wisconsin Amended return is missing or invalid.

I do not see a "Fix my return" button or any other indication on the main screen instructing me how to fix the issue.  It also appears I am no longer able to access my state 2020 form online.  It says I have to use the Desktop version now.

You cannot e-file a past year return---not an original past year return nor an amended past year return.  The only way to file your amended past year return is by mail.

According to this link, it appears Wisconsin is one of the state where it is allowed?

@marks818 And....certain paid tax pros have the software to e-file a past year return.  It cannot be done using do-it-yourself TurboTax software.

Interesting.  I did not see any mention of e-filing amended returns was for "certain paid tax pros" only in that article.  So I assumed it was intended also for us do-it-yourself type users.

Also, I would have guessed TurboTax would have barked at me if I was doing something that was not supported.  Instead TT allowed me to make the changes and TT also filed my amended return without complaint.  The filing attempt failed and now I have lost online access to my 2020 forms.

It sounds like I have no other options, so I will manually file my amended return.

I will summarize what I think should be done by TurboTax concerning this issue.

If it is true that amending a Wisconsin state return is not supported, then the following link should not indicate that it is supported:  https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/e-file-ame[product key remove...

If it is true that amending a Wisconsin state return is not supported, then the online TT UI should not allow the user to attempt to amend the state return.  I was able to file my amended return (and it was rejected for not being filled out correctly).

If amending a Wisconsin state return is supposed to be supported, then TT needs to determine why it did not work correctly when I tried it.  I did not receive a "Fix my return" button to select.  Instead I am locked out of  accessing my 2020 state return online.  This is a bug that should be fixed.

The filing amended returns laws changed in 2020. Depending on what date you file which year has an effect. You will need to mail the 2020 WI form.

Can I e-file my amended state return? makes a reference that the program may have you paper mail, that is due to the extra circumstances. The program operates in the 2020 world with those laws and rules.
