I have used Turbo Tax online for years. I am planning to file my tax return using the desktop version. Can I store my filed 2018 tax return online with my other tax returns?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Unfortunately, you cannot store your 2018 tax return return filed with the desktop version on the TurboTax data cloud.
You really should download a copy of your tax return each year and keep it for your records whether you use TurboTax online or desktop.

I used the cloud version in 2018 but a CD download for 2019 and the 2018 info won't populate for 2019, How can I access the 2018 info?

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show. Click on 2018 and Click on Download .tax file
If you used the online version last year and need to transfer your info to this year's Desktop version there are 2 ways depending on what you have.
1. If you saved the actual .tax2018 file (not just the pdf file) to your computer then start a new return and the very first thing you do is Transfer from .tax file. You can only transfer at the very beginning.
2. If you didn't save the .tax file to your computer or lost it, there is a way to do it by starting your return in the Online version, transfer to that and then continue in the desktop version. You won't have to pay for Online. See this…..
Here's how to transfer last year's return to Windows…..
