Note: Every year, before mid-October, print a copy of your current year tax return and save it as a tax file and pdf, too. That way you will have it when you need it for school, a loan, next year’s tax return, etc. without going through a lot of aggravation (and expense) to get it.

When schools were closed temporarily due to COVID-19 Pandemic, I came to Ethiopia in May 2020 and I have been stuck in the war-torn Tigray of Ethiopia since then. I used TurboTax and e-filed my tax return of 2020 on my salary of 01/01 - 31/07/2020 and I do not know what happened to my refund. I have had no job since 01/08/2020. I desperately need that refund now. I am trying to go back to the documents of my 2020 and make amendments. How could I do that?
How coul I track my refund?
@Assa The dates you are using in your post make it quite confusing and hard to follow. In 2020, the tax returns that would have been filed would have been for the tax year that had just ended---2019.
A 2020 tax return would not have been filed until 2021, and would have had income received in tax year 2020 entered. You say you only worked for about a week in tax year 2020.
So which tax year are you really asking about? Are you still awaiting an income tax refund for tax year 2019--which you would have filed in 2020......or did you file a 2020 tax return using a W-2 for that week of work in early 2020 and did you e-file it in 2021----when 2020 returns were being e-filed?
