Did you use the Refund Processing service to have your fees paid from your tax refund? You can review the bank account used for refund processing on lines 21b & d for your Form 1040.
If this is the case, once the IRS Where’s My Refund? site shows your refund has been sent, it generally takes Santa Barbara Tax Products Group (SBTPG), who administers the "refund processing service" for Intuit, 1 to 2 business days to process and forward your refund to your financial institution, after it receives them from the IRS.
Then once SBTPG sends the refund to your bank it can take up to 5 business days to post to your account.
If you have not received your refund and it is past the timeframes noted above, you may need to start a tracer by following the instructions in the following IRS link: IRS Refund Trace
where is federal tax refund?("March 22,2022")("4:05am")'wrong account number on--where is my federal refund?("Thank you very much")
On this public forum, we do not have information on tracking your federal refund once your return has been transmitted to the IRS.
Please follow the above suggestions by @Cass0317. If you utilized Pay with My Refund, the instructions cover how to track your refund from the third-party refund processing site and how to reach out to them directly. If you did not do this, and it seems to be in the wrong account, please see the last section that mentions how to contact the IRS to run a trace.
